Why Urethane?
Polyurethane, or urethane, is one of the toughest elastomeric materials available. Because it begins as a liquid before processing, it can be easily cast into nearly any size or shape and can be custom colored.
How urethane is manufactured and fabricated determines its effectiveness in a specific application. Generally, urethane is superior to other materials such metal and plastic because of its outstanding properties and wear characteristics. It is:
- Abrasion resistant
- Bondable to many substrates
- Capable of bearing heavy loads
- Chemical resistant
- Hard (strong durometer rating)
- Highly flexible
- Lightweight
- Non-corrosive
- Temperature resistant
