A note about part file
types: DiePlans are normally constructed
using RDE methods from picture files with
extensions such as .pdf, .bmp, .tif,
.png. Concept drawings created using
this type of file will be in sketch form or non
raster formats. When ordering precise flat
blank and nesting services, or if concepts are
required in CAD format, parts should be
submitted in one of the following 3D file types:
.igs, .vda, .dxf, .stl, .sat, .model
(catia 4), .cat, .part (catia 5), .stp, .step,
.prt (UG), .prt (pro e), .asm (pro e).
These file types can be readily used to
create flat blanks and die concept drawings
without additional CAD drafting charges.
