Metal surface protection from durable classifier shoes
Diamondback® urethane classifier shoes (also called flight shoes, fan screw shoes, and de-watering screws) can help protect metal surfaces and control many of the wear problems common to bulk aggregate handlers that turn and wash moving stone. Classifier shoes are designed to fit specific classifier models and sizes from manufacturers like Eagle and McLanahan. These classsifier shoes protect screw edges from abrasive materials in motion. Diamondback® Classifier Shoes offer many advantages over rubber, plastic and NI-hard shoe alternatives, including:
Wear and corrosion resistance
- Temperature stability
- Lightweight
- Ease of installation
- Interchangeable (right / left shoes)
In applications involving extreme cutting abrasion, Diamondback® is known to outwear even NI-Hard by a margin of 2.5 times to 1. NI-Hard is heavy and requires more horsepower than urethane. Additionally, Diamondback® conforms better to variations in the flighting, particularly if the classifier shoes are bent. Diamondback® can be impregnated with ceramic beads for greater wear protection or fortified with metal inserts that help secure fastening.
